Name:          Edgar Chaparro
Job Title:      Sr. Product Designer
Start Date:
April, 2017

Q: What does your workspace look like?
EC: “I have a MacBook Pro on a stand connected to a 27-in monitor. To the right of that, I have a wireless charger for my phone. Then I have two sugar skulls one which holds my micron pens. I also have a limited edition Montan Spraypaint can and a Super Saiyan 2 Gohan figurine. Closer to my working area I have an apple keyboard, trackpad, dot-grid notebook, Ipad pro, and Sony XM3 headphones.

Q: What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
EC: “At the moment we are doing R&D with sensors and how we can integrate them into our product to provide smarter insight.”

Q: What’s your secret talent that few people know about?
EC: “I am actually a semi-decent photographer. At one point when I was uploading more images, I was one of Unsplashes most downloaded photographers in 2018.”

Q: What was the best concert you ever attended?
EC: “I was lucky enough to score tickets to Controlled Danger with John Mayer and Dave Chappelle, which is a music/comedy hybrid. Nonetheless, it was the most amazing thing I have ever attended. David Watkins, one of our Lead Engineers, was also with me – he can vouch for me!”

Q: What’s the best thing about Zenput?
EC: “This is going to sound extra corny, but the people I work with truly make Zenput an amazing place to work.”

Q: Who inspires you and why?
EC: “My momma, but that’s a gimme and also a little too easy. At the moment Jerry Lorenzo has been producing some of my favorite pieces to date. He is the first designer to get his own silhouette with Nike and its simply one of my favorite sneakers of all time. In addition, his sixth collection which comes out in the fall is just so, so good. It’s reminded me why I like him as a designer so much. His conviction and attention to detail is just everything. That energy honestly fuels me. Oh and also the people over at Marvel who made Miles Morales everything I always believed Spiderman was.”
